Violin Pedagogy Workshop (SAA Enrichment Course)

This workshop includes 4 hours of observing masterclasses with Almita Vamos, 10 hours of violin pedagogy with Charles Krigbaum (based on the publications of Kerstin Wartberg for the intermediate level “Enjoying Violin Technique & Recital Training”), and a lecture by Stefanie Faye Frank, a mindset neuroscientist who will discuss the changes that occur in the brain while learning in various environments.

Retreat for Violin and Viola Teachers

The program incorporates the philosophies of Shinichi Suzuki, Paul Rolland, and Mimi Zweig. It will include lectures, demonstrations, and opportunities to observe master teachers in the Indiana University String Academy and world-renowned guest artists. A few sessions will focus on using the Retreat Principles in public school instruction.
