About this Site
What is the IMTEX ONLINE MEDIA LIBRARY?
The IMTEX ONLINE MEDIA LIBRARY is a new music-oriented website that will distribute articles, digital sheet music, and MP3 files on the Web for immediate download or printing by music teachers, their students, and music lovers.
Along with these materials you will find a series of:
- guided practice videos
- performance videos
- lesson observation videos
Members of the IMTEX ONLINE MEDIA LIBRARY can share materials, ideas, and tips. We want to encourage music teachers to present their own materials to the online media library, such as original sheet music for teaching, essays for parents, videos, compositions for students, arrangements for mixed-level ensembles, etc., and to motivate a lively exchange between members of the global teaching community. We intend the online media library to be an extremely supportive place to get and give inspiration.
The IMTEX ONLINE MEDIA LIBRARY is an offer provided by the German Suzuki Association (Deutsche Suzuki Gesellschaft e.V., gegr. 1983).
Who manages the ONLINE MEDIA LIBRARY?
The ONLINE MEDIA LIBRARY is managed by ISTEX MUSIC PUBLICATIONS, a German company founded in 2016 by Kerstin Wartberg.
What are the aims of the INTERNATIONAL MUSIC TEACHERS EXCHANGE?
The primary aims of the group INTERNATIONAL MUSIC TEACHERS EXCHANGE, a subdivision of the German Suzuki Association, are to create an international network for music teachers and to facilitate an active and enriching exchange of excellent and helpful TEACHING IDEAS.
The IMTEX group, also active on Facebook with more than 6000 members as of November 2017, was created as an open space in which music teachers from all over the world could share and discuss ideas about teaching and performance, exchange resources, share original compositions and videos of students or great performers playing student literature, and offer each other support as members of a worldwide community of interested and dedicated music teachers.
The core aims of the INTERNATIONAL MUSIC TEACHERS EXCHANGE are:
- to facilitate the continual improvement of pedagogical standards in music teaching around the globe
- to promote lifelong learning among students and teachers alike
- to encourage study and research into all phases and aspects of music teaching
- to provide a forum for discussion and the dissemination of ideas through conferences, workshops, and printed material
- to promote collaboration among its members and with other organizations that share similar interests
